Jennifer Youngquist

Jen is a Yoga teacher, certified life coach, energy practitioner & avid cyclist. She started her fitness journey in 1999 wanting to gain fitness as well as confidence. Her Yoga journey started as a result of an injury. Not wanting to lose fitness, she needed a way to stay active & maintain strength while she healed. It worked & the physical challenge of it was addicting. However, the more subtle effects of the practice weren't noticed until much later, basically after her teacher training in 2012. She used to be the person who felt like every activity had to be a workout or a challenge in some way or it wasn't worth doing. After hearing one of her teachers say in a workshop "Do not use Yoga as a workout. You will never experience all it has to offer you if you do", then things started to shift. Her practice started evolving & getting deeper into the more subtle effects on energy & the mind. Especially that of triggering the parasympathetic nervous system response, calming the mind fluctuations, & learning to enjoy the inner experience, which are all the things she wants to impart to students who take her classes. Gentle, Yin & Restorative classes are her specialty. These days, Jen stays fit by cycling with her husband, taking Barre classes, hiking, & of course, Yoga.
